Where to begin for building my startup's website?

I have a startup that is currently built using Weebly. (awful decision, but it's a long story) The business itself has been validated and is growing and we want to move it to a more customizable platform. I also want to learn the ins and outs of building and managing the site.

We have settled on Wordpress so my question is where should I begin in learning on Treehouse? I've taken a few Wordpress courses and some seem a little over my head. I've heard from other resources to familiarize myself with PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript.

What should I be focusing on right now? I'm all over the place in my learning and I want to have a clear track on what I should be putting my time into.

Hi Matthew,

If you're settled on Wordpress (which I think is a good choice), you should check out the Learn Wordpress track here on Treehouse. It's very beginner-friendly, and will get you from 0 to power user. I'm not sure which Wordpress courses you've checked out so far, but this track focuses on using Wordpress to power your sites, rather than developing your own Wordpress themes and plugins, which would definitely be over your head if you don't already know HTML, CSS and PHP.

If you want to be able to customize some of the code later on, you could learn some HTML, CSS, PHP, etc., but I would start with learning to use the tool you'll be relying on.
