Which Track and future goals?

I just started my 14 day trial. Thank you for your previous answer to my question of not knowing where to start. I looked at both the web design video with @guil and IOS development with @paradoxed. I feel initially I want to build apps for Apple. How does that work as a career in that, am I selling my apps to apple? Can I work for them remotely? I would like to do the Web Design track after, because my goal is to launch 2 companies next year and wanna have the knowledge of web design. Is my thinking in the right direction? Any advice? Currently, I have a HP EliteBook 840, can I start the IOS track with this laptop? thanks

I'm answering the iOS side of things. First learn Swift, I started with Obj-C, but after I started on Swift I realized how much better it is. Second, when Apple accepts a submit to the app store you get a percentage of the profits (like royalty from a book), Apple does not buy the app; you don't actually work for Apple. Third, you either need to have a mac or install OS X on different hardware (called a Hackintosh, which is very buggy). Fourth, yes you can work remotely. It does cost $99 a year to be a registered developer with apple , this allows you to submit an app for review, and until this fall with the reales of iOS 9 you will need that for testing apps on an actual device. Hope this helps!

Caleb, Thank you so much. Your feedback gave me a lot of clarity. So it looks like, I'll be starting with Swift. I don't have a Mac yet so I thought I would start and complete the web development track first. I'd rather wait to get a Mac first than deal with the bugs. My short term goal was to learn how to build apps for Apple to produce an additional stream of income. After I submit the app, who actually owns the app? Any further feedback would be greatly appreciated. True
