Why existing Android content is becoming pro only???

Why existing Android workshop is becoming pro only?

Hello Ben Jakuben and Ryan Carson Sir, Why existing Android content is becoming pro only??? I remember that below-mentioned workshops are also available for treehouse normal user before I enroll to treehouse but now I see that these workshops are only for pro treehouse users, Why? RxJava and Retrofit are the common tech in android for making networking easier and it's available for normal treehouse user in past and now its only for pro users, this is really not good, how a normal treehouse user get the job in android by just learning how to create offline app and not knowing the Rxjava and Retrofit these libraries are now required even in junior android dev jobs, this is bad, not expected this kind of alteration in existing content from Treehouse :(

Workshops are:-

  1. https://teamtreehouse.com/library/rxjava
  2. https://teamtreehouse.com/library/simplify-networking-with-retrofit

We went through a process a year ago of adding levels to our content (these have been Pro for a while). Part of the reasoning was to differentiate some of the more advanced content so that beginner students wouldn't be overwhelmed by it. For example, if you're pretty new to Android and programming, we don't want you to worry about Retrofit and RxJava for a while until you're really ready for it.

I do totally understand that this can be a little frustrating. Both of these workshops are relatively small (about 45 minutes each, I think), so it's feasible to upgrade to Pro for just one month and take these and others that are interesting to you. Knowing these will definitely help in your job hunt, but as a hiring manager I wouldn't personally require that candidates know a specific library. What's more important is that you know the concepts of how to send and receive data over the web, and are aware that third party libraries can be learned and used to solve specific problems.

Yeah! I agree with you, sir :)
