why is my android studio not showing a virtual phone on the Design view?

why is my android studio not showing a virtual phone on the Design view? Instead of a virtual phone device, they just show the screen.

Not sure why this would happen, but if I was to guess, this is probably because you are using a newer version then what is shown in the video.

I agree with Caleb. The newer versions did away with the device frames.

In order to fit in, I have to change the android: layout to width="352dp" instead of android:layout_width="wrap_content " for Button and text view. Totally different from the video. Why isn't it working as shown in the video?
