JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Create a max() Function

Why is this not passing? Error message I am getting is 'There is an error. SyntaxError with parse'.

Create a new function named max() which accepts two numbers as arguments. The function should return the larger of the the two.

script.js
function max(a, b){
  if a > b {
    return a;
  }else
    return b;
  }
}
max(10, 8);
max(4, 13);

function max(a, b){
  if a > b { //you should surround the condition, with braces in javascript
    return a;
  }else //opening brace is missing, here
    return b;
  }
}

Ah! Thank you
