Why there is no track for React Native?

Why there is no track for React Native in treehouse ? React Native is considered as one of the hottest trends in tech industry at the moment, and most of the competitors like Udemy has lot of contents for it. It would be really great if anybody out there who is interested in the topic ping a mail to the support team, because surprisingly they don't think there is enough demand for it yet!!!

(For those who don't know React Native, is enough to say it will allow you to create native apps for both iOS/android devices with only one code base, which make it perfect choice for startups to save time and money.)

Cheers,

Hi Ali,

There are 2 courses on it so far: Introduction to React Native and Introduction to React Native for iOS

These courses are a great start if you would like to get started with React Native.

Even if there is no track yet, the courses will get you up and running in no time!

I hope that helps you.

Jonas

Hi stjarnan,

I did notice those courses and I sure will start with them soon, but I still feel we are missing a dedicated track for React Native with more contents.

It seems like there are now zero dedicated React Native courses on Treehouse....? There is a full React track, but not even an intro to React Native? Andrew Chalkley - thoughts?

Got this reply from the support team:

Hi Jonas,

I've requested for our teaching team to look into that thread and provide a response once they have some time. Please note that it is Friday, where a majority of the company works a half day and then we're all off for the weekend and all of next week in observance of the holidays. A reply to that thread may not occur until the first week of January. I apologize for any inconvenience that may cause!

Thank you for your patience and understand and Merry Christmas!

Best, Rob Allessi Customer Support Manager

Hi Ali Chegini,

I agree that React Native is an important piece of technology in mobile dev, and still trending upward. We are currently reevaluating our React Native curriculum, so that it's taught in ways that best serve our students. In addition, the React Native team is currently working on a complete re-architecture of React Native to make it "more lightweight and fit better into existing native apps."

In the meantime, we do offer the workshop Using Create React Native App, which offers a friendly walkthrough of the CLI, for students who may want to pickup RN after learning ReactDOM. Stay tuned, however! :)
