why this

when we use a method and return value like this 'return "product name ". $this -> name.' why we use name after $this pseudo variable can't we use price or description of the product

can you be more specific? Example maybe?

are you saying: 

class Do {
public $price;
public $description;
public $name;

public function DoSomething(){
  ..... your function ......;
 $this->name = someOutput from the function

}

}

or are you saying? 

class Do {
public $price;
public $description;

public function DoSomething(){
$name = $something
  ..... your function ......;
return $this->name;

}

}

When you are using OOP variables can have multiple values at the same time, one for each instance of the object. $this->variable is how the code knows that you are using the variable value for this instance of the object.

My answer is probably not technically correct, but it is how I understand it and remember when to use $this->.
