why we dont use append()?

why we need to create function that doing the appendChild, if we could easily do the append() method, and add them all in 1 line? thanks in advance.

You could certainly do it that way if you want, I don't think the examples are ever intended to imply that they are the only way to do something.

It's possible that appendChild was chosen for the example because for many years it had wide browser support but append did not.
