12,755 PointsHey there, I have not had any trouble with the vmware tools in a while what version of vmware?
You probably have already worked around this by now but thought I would throw in my 2c
Also if you are running windows 8.1 just install the built in hyper-v hypervisor instead I stopped using vmware workstation after that as it does everything I need it to. But you can NOT have both vmware and hyperv installed at the same time. As soon as you add hyperv from programs in the control panel vmware will stop working :-(
Another benefit to running hyperv and ubuntu is that starting with 12 the synthetic adapters for hyperv are in the kernel provided and are automatically used and no special tools package is required :-)
