Hi Treehouse Staff. I am currently using windows as I am sure some of the students of treehouse may also be doing this. In the front end track with the developer console course you guys concentrated on Unix/GNULinux console/command line. While I know this course is very valuable in terms of usage and experience as a developer, I would like to make a formal request if any of the lecturers could perhaps do a video lecture on Windows Console and some of the commands please. I currently do not have access and cannot afford a MAC machine, as what I am learning in terms of time is limited and its for my present job.

231,108 PointsThe console information is also useful when using the Console Environment or the Workspaces, which are Linux no matter what your home computer uses.
Also, the forum is a great place to get help from other students, but may not be the most expedient (or even certain) way to contact the staff.
You may want to make your request directly to the staff as described on the Support page.

28,149 PointsAnother idea Faoud, and this is exactly what have done for myself at my work, is to set up a virtual machine using either VirtualBox or VMware (I've used, and currently have installed both), and then just download and install whichever flavor of Linux you want. I'm currently using Ubuntu 16.04 as my development environment on a Windows based platform, and it works quite well, and cost my no money to set up.
Either VirtualBox or VMware can be downloaded and used for free, and ubuntu is free as well.
