Windows users solution to open the vs code from the prompt :

  1. Open the start menu and search for "Environment Variables" and click on "Edit the system environment variables".
  2. In the "System Properties" window that appears, click on the "Environment Variables" button at the bottom.
  3. In the "Environment Variables" window, scroll down to the "System variables" section and find the "Path" variable. Click on the "Edit" button.
  4. In the "Edit environment variable" window, click on the "New" button and enter the path to the Visual Studio Code installation directory. This is typically C:\Program Files\Microsoft VS Code or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft VS Code on Windows.
  5. Click on "OK" to close all the windows and save the changes.
  6. Open a new terminal or command prompt and try running the code command again.
